Growing Strong Kids

There are
many ways
to be STRONG!

Using the garden to
teach nutrition,
build confidence and develop lifetime
skills for healthy,
happy life.

STRONG MINDS

Do we think about where food comes from ...that it actually does grow...and how much we depend upon the processes of nature?

Nutrition is becoming a serious problem. Children are not eating the foods they need to grow to be healthy and strong.

Difficult questions affecting our food supply.... irradiation, treated seeds, altered? genes....will need an informed electorate, familiar with plants. the environment and food production to answer.

Our very existence depends upon making good decisions about our relationship to the Earth. You can't make a good decision without a solid foundation in the underlying facts and processes.

This program uses nature, specifically hands-on garden education, to help prepare our children for a better, healthier future.

STRONG BODIES

When we think of strong, the first thing we think of is a strong body. But a strong body means more than just muscles. To build a strong body, children need aerobic exercise, sunshine, and a diet rich in wholesome fruits and vegetables to help them maintain a healthy body weiight.

STRONG CHARACTER

A person strong in character is a person who is honest, dependable, considerate of others, self-disiplined, patient, hard-working and always ready and willing to do the right thing. Character develops over time and through experience. The garden is a wonderful place to share experiences that will help children develop good character. Patience, caring, reliability, coping with failure, the importance of teamwork....many lessons can be learned in the garden.
